Day 3 of character building jawnski

3) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from.  If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

Amahl:  his most prominent scars are on the palms of his hands, because of the constant re-opening of the skin in his palms for use of his bending.  Even as he is more skilled and able to use his blood-healing techniques to seal the wounds quickly the scar tissue is still very visible.

Barung:  his body has a choice number of scars.  But there is an injury to his ribs on the right where khan caved them in a fight when the two were younger.  Barung has healed fine, but Khan taunts him with the injury and with the memory when the two face off.

Gurien: Gurien’s only scars are those he’s delivered onto himself to show off his devotion to Gaia through various rituals.  He would far rather let his gang members fight for him, keeping his strength for when it’s truly needed.

Hamash:  An old man Hamash has seen his share of training exercises and combat.  But none holds special meaning to him, he is not a man who counts his scars or measures his life in pain.  However he is very aware of his body, he’s an older man and he’s loosing his physical prowess he possessed as a young man.  He is, however, still an Avatar.

Khan:  The huge scar draped across his chest he wears proudly was delivered to him by Barung.  Barung’s family has a bending skill he keeps secret, and during the time skip he used that technique against Khan, while the JEG commanders tried to put Khan down.  Barung couldn’t go for the killing blow, which is the only reason Khan survived.  Looking at the scar Khan knows that Barung is technically more skilled at earthbending, which is what drives Khan to become more brutally powerful at his firebending and his magmabending.

Okan:  The number of scars you get with a mouth like Okans… One of the more prominent ones was slightly after he initially joined the JEG.  He was stationed under a brutal waterbending squad leader who saw Okan as dead weight in his squad and would do everything in his power to attempt to make Okan give up.  When Okan runs his fingertips along one particular scar he received from the beatings his squad leader handed down he remembers all the suffering he endured having such aspirations but no bending skills to back them up.

Quan:  The scar across her eye is very prominent, but she’s very quiet about it.  It was given to her by Luili, the former commander of the Jinhai.  It is never entirely clear if those two are heated rivals or former best friends or something else entirely.  But Quan’s impaired visual state does not slow her down, and one day she’ll give a scar back to Luili to match her own.

Wutai:  His torso has two stab wounds just under his ribs, he got them in a mugging somewhere in the fire nation in what seemed like a lifetime ago.  The stab wounds are important to him, but nobody really knows why or what their story is.  Wutai knows that it’s not the mugging that means so much to him, but the man who saved his life who does.
